Some of My Favs

It's summer - time for an easy, showy dessert! This trifle is very flexible, choose any fruits that are in season and a favorite pound cake flavor...almost any combo works. Show this off in a glass serving dish.

Easy Trifle
Ingredients:

  • (2) purchased pound cakes or (1) nice sized bundt cake - cut into ~1" cubes
  • (1) large package instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 1/4 Cups milk
  • (1) 8 oz container Cool Whip - thawed
  • (3) pints fresh or frozen berries (any kind will work - defrost and drain if using frozen)
Method:
  1. Make pudding according to package directions. Let set up for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Fold Cool Whip into pudding reserving 1/4 - 1/2 Cup Cool Whip for top garnish.
  3. Layer 1/3 of the cake in the bottom of the dish. Top with 1/3 of the pudding mixture and 1 pint of fruit.
  4. Repeat layering twice
Refrigerate up to 12 hours

Notes: This is better the day it is made. Blueberries and strawberries make a great combo for 4th of July
